Perfection is a difficult task to accomplish on any level of athletics but so far the Lady Chiefs of McIntosh High School remained perfect (6-0) at home with a 51-20 victory over the Lady Indians of East Coweta High School Saturday evening in McIntosh gymnasium.
The wrestling season is going at full tilt and area teams are showing strength.

Both the McIntosh girls' and boys' basketball teams came out on top against the Sandy Creek Patriots Saturday night. While the two games were very different in terms of speed of play, two similarities did stand out. In both games the Chiefs had to fight back to win as they trailed the Patriots early.
The basketball season will slow down a bit over the holidays but there is a great game on tap right before the break. McIntosh will host Sandy Creek on Saturday (4:30 and 6 p.m.). Both games should be competitive but the girls game has the potential to be great.
McIntosh’s Brad Hort placed 35th in the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals in San Diego, Calif. on Saturday. He finished with a time of 16:09. The top finisher was Ed Cheserek of Newark, NJ. He finished with a time of 14:59.
While several local schools were still inflicted with football fever, the basketball season is underway and teams are hoping to build momentum heading into holiday tournaments.

The 34th annual South Region Foot Locker Cross Country Championship race took place last Saturday in Charlotte, N.C. Over 2,000 cross country runners competed from the South Region totaling 14 states this year that had entered.
Basketball fans will have to wait until next year for what should be a great match-up between two of the top girls basketball teams in the area, but when McIntosh and Starr’s Mill tangle at the Panther Pit on Jan. 12 you’ll want to be there.
