The Lady Chiefs of McIntosh High School advanced to the next round of the state playoffs after a 76-41 victory over Lee County high school.

The Lady Chiefs, who finished second in the region tournament, hosted the Trojans in front of their home crowd.

McIntosh finished with three players in double digits, Gabby Seiler just missed a triple double scoring 24 points with 12 assists and nine rebounds.

Cassidy Williams scored 20 and Amanda Lindsey finished the night with 16. The Lady Chiefs held a commanding to a 27-14 at halftime and later broke the game open scoring 49 points in the second half.

“Defensively in the second half we started to follow the game plan and offensively we started to make the extra pass,” said head coach David Dowse. “When we make the extra pass we are a pretty hard team to guard and everyone gets involved in the scoring.”

McIntosh finished the night with a combined 24 assists, 18 of which came from their leading scorers.

Lee County never had a lead in the game as McIntosh jumped on the Trojans early 13-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Trojans attempted to gain some momentum in the third quarter down by 15 but Seiler and Lindsey combined for three consecutive three pointers to end the third and the Trojans season.

“We play hard and I would expect nothing less than for us to play hard every night,” said Dowse.

The Lady Chiefs will travel to play the rebels of Effingham County Friday night in the second round of the state playoffs.
