Mercy Baseball turning the corner

Last year the Bobcats of Our Lady of Mercy completed their first winning season in its ten year history and this season they are starting right where they left off.

Austin pitching.jpgThe Bobcats have posted a 5-0 record defeating opponets by an average of 6.2 runs per game. Senior Justin Larkin has a .636 batting average and has scored 11 runs for the Bobcats which leads the team. Sophomore Kevin Walker is leading the team in RBI’s with nine.

Our Lady of Mercy beat Temple Friday - 10-2. Austin Loper pitched a complete game with 84 pitches, 12 strike outs, 4 hits, and 1 walk. At one point he struck out 7 batters in a row. Loper has improved his record is 2-0, with 1 save and a 1.66 ERA so far this season.
