Starr's Mill hoopsters sweep Tri-Cities

Starr’s Mill’s boys and girls both got region wins on Tuesday as they defeated Tri-Cities.

The boys (7-9) won 61-54 and had four players in double figures. Justin Smith had 15 points, 13 of which came in the second half, while Haydn Barnes added 12 and Tanner Carson and Jeff Greene each had 10. The Panthers shot 21 for 29 from the foul line and had a 26 point fourth quarter to seal the deal.

The Lady Panthers (4-15) won 45-41. Tempest Ponds had 10 points, while Victoria Hopkins added eight and Holly Zeller, Logan Harris and Molly Musselwhite each had six.

Starr’s Mill will host Our Lady of Mercy Saturday and will host Northgate next Friday.
