Sandy Creek still undefeated after win over Locust Grove

Sandy Creek (6-0) won 49-23 over Locust Grove. The Patriots, ranked second in Class AAA, got touchdown runs from Derrick Alexander, CJ Washington, Ronnie Bell, Lennie Foster and Mike Hilton and a touchdown catch from Darius Tenney.

Whitewater wins area volleyball tournament, Creek and Mercy second in their areas

Whitewater (48-4) won the area 3-AAAA volleyball tournament over the weekend. They were followed by McIntosh in second place, Northgate in third and Starr’s Mill in fourth.

More region wins for Wildcats, Panthers, Patriots and Bobcats

spor_whitewater line.jpgWhen Whitewater faced their county rivals this year, the games went down to the wire and the Wildcats found themselves on the losing side. That wasn’t the case tonight.

Fayette County struck first in their game against Whitewater with a two yard touchdown run from Tago Smith, but Whitewater answered with an 82 yard drive that ended with a 10 yard touchdown run from Josh Clemons. The Wildcats entered the locker room at the half with a 7-6 lead.

Sandy Creek hands ranked Eastside team a loss

In a battle of two ranked opponents (polls for Class AAA had Sandy Creek at second in Class AAA and Eastside in seventh prior to Friday night’s game), the reigning Class AAAA state champion Sandy Creek Patriots (5-0) took care of business against some of the strongest competition they’ve faced this year, beating the Eastside Eagles 30-10.

Chiefs win at Alexander meet, Sandy Creek takes third at Spalding

McIntosh’s boys won the varsity division of the Alexander High School Cross Country Invitational while Starr’s Mill took 14th, Landmark Christian placed 20th, Whitewater placed 26th and Fayette County took 29th.

Sandy Creek (4-0) defeated Henry County 41-21 last Friday. Lennie Foster, Evan Moore, Derrick Alexander (159 yards rushing, 2 TD’s) and Ronnie Bell (7 of 12 passing for 163 yards) all scored before Henry County got on the board.

Sandy Creek hosted Drew in their home opener and gave their fans plenty to cheer about, winning 48-6.
