The Starr’s Mill Panthers boys tennis team have played in 2 tournaments so far this season, and won them both.

The Starr’s Mill girls’ basketball team concluded their 2012/13 season with the second most wins in the program’s history after finishing 17-10.

Wildcats win region title

2012-2013 Region 4-AAAAA boys basketball tournament was named after assistant head Noah Chalkley, who tragically died of a sudden heart attack in January, so it seems only fitting that the Wildcats would win it all after a 50-32 victory over Starr’s Mill in the region championship.

McIntosh completes season sweep of Starr's Mill

spor_020913_mc vs sm boys battle_COLOR.pngThe sequel to the Battle of the Bubble (the annual meetings of the boys and girls basketball teams of Starr’s Mill) wasn’t as intense as the first installment. McIntosh’s Lady Chiefs cruised to a 46-27 win over Starr’s Mill and the McIntosh boys defeated Starr’s Mill 58-46, one of the first match-ups between these two schools in recent memory that did not come down to a buzzer beater.

Starr’s Mill sweeps Whitewater in two close contests

The Lady Panthers (14-7) extended their three-game regional winning streak with Friday night’s closely contested overtime victory against a team they previously beat by 40 points.

Whitewater takes third at Southside Brawl

Over 20 schools from Georgia joined the Wildcats at the Southside Brawl this weekend at Whitewater High School. Whitewater took third at the event. Five Wildcats made it to the championship round with eight medaling in the tournament.

Starr's Mill swimmers win 13th straight county title

Starr’s Mill’s swim team won its 13th consecutive county championship last Friday. Both the boys and girls finished in first place, while McIntosh’s boys and girls both placed second and Whitewater’s boys and girls placed third. Our Lady of Mercy placed fourth overall, followed by Fayette County and Sandy Creek.

Teams play in tight hoops matches

Starr’s Mill hosted the annual Girls Night Out basketball showcase last Friday and Saturday and fans witnessed some top-notch basketball.
