Tonight's soccer matches between McIntosh-Starr's Mill postponed

Those of you were anxiously awaiting the match-up between the McIntosh and Starr's Mill varsity boys soccer teams, ranked first and second respectively in Class AAAA, will have to wait two weeks.

Starr's Mill soccer teams beat Fayette County

Starr’s Mill’s boys (15-0) defeated Fayette County on Monday night 3-0 with goals coming from Jon Murtaugh, Danny Hojaij and Chase Park.

Splits for Starr's Mill and Whitewater, Lady Chiefs beat Lovett

Starr’s Mill’s boys, ranked first in Class AAAA and third in the state, defeated Northgate 4-1 on Tuesday, while the Lady Panthers, ranked second in AAAA and 10th in the state, lost 1-0.

Big soccer/baseball matches tonight postponed

Tonight’s soccer matches between Whitewater and McIntosh will be postponed until Monday evening. The boys will play at 5:30 p.m. and the girls will play at 7:30 p.m.

The baseball game between Whitewater and Starr’s Mill will also be rescheduled but a time has yet to be announced.

Teams get wins in and out of region schedules

McIntosh’s Lady Chiefs (8-3-1), ranked sixth in Class AAAA, moved into a tie for first place in the region with a 9-0 win over Fayette County on Friday.

Clashes between region and local foes produce drama

Sandy Creek’s varsity baseball team (7-2), ranked seventh in Class AAAA, won their fourth game in a row on Saturday by handing Landmark Christian, last year’s Class A state runner-up and currently ranked sixth in Class A, an 8-4 loss.
